Best Bowling Balls for Two Handers

When you think of two handed bowling, you think of dominating revs, crushing hook, strings of strikes, and pins flying. One of the major difference with two handed bowling and one-handed bowling is the amount of revolutions players can easily put on the ball. This factor eliminates some of the higher-end choices. Putting a strong-hooking ball in the hands of a master of revolutions leads to a ball that just dives into the gutter. Here are a few of some of the 2023 lineup of balls that are best for Two Handed Bowlers.

Motiv Venom Shock:

This ball is a great choice for two handed bowlers who want a lot of hook. It has a strong asymmetrical core and a pearl coverstock that provides a lot of friction on the lane. Watch out though about falling in love with the Motiv Line of balls, they tend to be on the more expensive side.

Storm Tropical Surge:

This ball is a good choice for two handed bowlers who want a ball that is easy to control. It has a symmetrical core and a pearl coverstock that provides a lot of length and a smooth arc.

Brunswick Rhino:

This ball is another good choice for two handed bowlers who are looking for a ball that is easy to control. It has a weaker core and a solid coverstock that will provide a smooth reaction on the lane.

Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid:

This ball is a great option for two handed bowlers who want a ball that is aggressive and can handle heavy oil. The hook is aggressive on the back-end giving it a hockey-stick shape. It has an asymmetrical core and a hybrid coverstock that provides a lot of hook and backend reaction. A notable evolution is Brunswick/Hammer’s line of Hyper-Kinetic-22 Coverstock, or HK22. It’s a unique formulation that gives some medium to high-end Brunswick/Hammer Balls some more punch in the backend of the lane.

Purple Hammer Urethane:

You see these on the Pro Tour all the time by Pro’s sponsored by Brunswick. It might not be the best ball to use on house-shots, but two-handers have a gift for making urethane usable in a lot of different situations.

The Plastic or Polyester Ball:

This is a definite staple for spares. Your spare ball will be the ball you use the most. These balls are necessary because they have very little hook. Even with a lot of heavy revolutions on them, they will tend to careen straight toward your target.
